Talking with BrownMark at the AJC studio.

The Revolution – the famed band from “Purple Rain”-era Prince – announced an Atlanta performance at the Tabernacle several months ago. All of the originals – Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman, Mark “BrownMark” Brown, Dr. Fink and Bobby Z will be on stage pumping out the hits of the era on Feb. 24 (tickets are available here).

But it was fortuitous timing that BrownMark, who moved to Atlanta last year, was available to chat a few days after the Super Bowl, where Justin Timberlake polarized an audience with the Prince tribute sandwiched into his halftime performance.

The thoughtful and affable BrownMark visited the AJC video studio on Friday morning to share his thoughts on Timberlake’s performance, as well as some tidbits about the Tabernacle concert and the future of The Revolution.

If you missed our Facebook Live in the studio, you can check out some excerpts below. We’ll have more for you closer to the show.
