Kenny Chesney fans hoping to catch their guy performing with Thomas Rhett, Old Dominion and Brandon Lay next year at Mercedes-Benz Stadium can hop on a ticket pre-sale offer this week.
Tickets for the 5 p.m. May 26 concert are on sale now via www.ticketmaster.com through 10 a.m. Oct. 27 with the pre-sale code SUN (in honor of the tour name – “Trip Around the Sun”). The general public on-sale will kick in at 10 a.m. Oct. 27. Tickets range from $115-$290.
When the show was announced last week (my colleague Jennifer Brett posted the news while I was on vacation), officials vowed that there would not be a repeat of the sound issues that plagued the Oct. 12 Garth Brooks performance and angered tens of thousands of concertgoers.
Chesney has been a steady stadium performer, especially in Atlanta where he frequently played the Georgia Dome. His most recent performance there was in 2015 with Eric Church.
Chesney has also announced the release of “Live in No Shoes Nation,” his second live album that features songs recorded around the country, including Atlanta, Denver, Asbury Park, Tampa and Dallas.
The double-disc, 30-song collection offers Chesney’s opening medley of Steve Miller’s “Space Cowboy” and Bob Marley’s “Three Littler Birds,” as well as a guest shot from Dave Matthews at the final show of 2007’s “Flip Flop Summer” tour.
Here is the track listing for “Live in No Shoes Nation,” which will be released Oct. 27.
