Gregg Allman might be gone, but his spirit will live on in his Laid Back Festival.
The event named after his 1973 solo debut first took place at a single show in 2015 in New York; last year, the festival expanded to five cities and included Allman as the headliner.
The Atlanta performance, which was rescheduled to late October after an injury to one of the members of participating ZZ Top postponed the original May concert, turned out to be Allman’s last-ever live show before his death in May.
This year’s Atlanta return will feature Lynyrd Skynyrd headlining, along with Allman’s son, Devon, who will perform Gregg Allman’s upcoming album, “Southern Blood,” in its entirety for the first time. Other acts include Bishop Gunn and Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band.
Tickets for the show, Oct. 14 at Verizon Amphitheatre, are $29.50-$149.50 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 24 at www.livenation.com and by calling 1-800-745-3000.
