Almost exactly a year after Duran Duran dazzled Atlanta with a full-scale production at Philips Arena, the band will return for a scaled-down version at Chastain Park Amphitheatre.
Still touring in support of their 14th studio album, “Paper Gods” – which features the funky “Pressure Off” with Janelle Monae – Duran Duran will kick off the season at Chastain with a show at 8 p.m. April 8.
Tickets are $35-$85 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 27 via www.livenation.com.
Duran Duran’s “Paper Gods” tour in the spring and summer of 2016 brought the band back to arenas for the first time since its “Seven and the Ragged Tiger” heyday.
The fiery production and robust song list impressed casual fans and longtime followers alike (the Atlanta show made my list of the Top 10 concerts of the year) as Simon LeBon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor revisited their sublime New Wave hits and sprinkled in fresh musical nuggets.
