Beyonce is back – or at least she will be on Monday – and if you’re heading to the Georgia Dome for what is likely the last concert at the venue before it’s demolished, here are a few tidbits to keep in mind.
Now, if you attended Beyonce’s first “Formation Tour” visit to the Dome in May, this will be familiar terrain. But first-timers, listen up:
The “clear bag” policy that is in effect for NFL games also became standard operating procedure for concerts this year as well.
According to stadium security rules, bags can be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and cannot exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12.” One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags are also acceptable as well as small clutch bags (about the size of a hand, no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”) with or without a handle or strap.
The concert is close to sold-out, but you can still grab a ticket or two. A reminder that Ticketmaster is the only official, verified source of tickets for the “Formation Tour.” If you purchased a ticket through Ticketmaster or the BeyHive, your ticket is authentic and you are protected in the event of a cancellation or postponement. If you can’t make the show, you can re-sell your tickets on Ticketmaster.com.
Tickets are $45-$280. The show is at 7:30 p.m. (DJ Khaled opens); gates open at 5:30 p.m. At her May performance, she took the stage around 9 p.m., but there is no guarantee she’s on the same schedule on this leg of the tour.
Will call is located on the West Plaza, between Gates B and C and near building C of the Georgia World Congress Center. There is no re-entry. Once your ticket has been scanned, if you leave, you cannot return on the same ticket.
If you’re the social media-sharing type and just have to boast about your prized tickets online, a suggestion – #CoverTheCode. On your ticket – both paper and mobile – is a specific code. Anyone who acquires it can make duplicate tickets, which would render yours useless.
If you’re driving to the Georgia Dome, you can purchase parking in advance at various lots surrounding the venue ($35) at gadome.com. MARTA riders can exit either at the Vine City station (blue line) near Gate A of the Dome or the Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN station (blue line).
