Future will debut as an MTV Video Music Awards performer on Sunday’s show, joining a lineup that also includes Britney Spears and G-Easy, Nick Jonas and Ty Dolla Sign and Video Vanguard recipient Rihanna.

This year’s VMAs will air live from New York’s Madison Square Garden at 9 p.m.

The Atlanta rapper, who has been parked on the Billboard charts this year with his Drake collaboration, “What a Time to Be Alive” and his own “EVOL” album, will make a hometown stop on the “Summer Sixteen” tour with Drake for a pair of shows at Philips Arena Thursday and Friday.

The duo surprised fellow Atlanta hip-hop star Gucci Mane last month at his homecoming concert at the Fox Theatre.
