The 10-time Grammy winner made headlines last month when she disclosed that she had entered rehab for an addiction to the same prescription painkillers that led to Prince’s death in April. Khan canceled several shows this summer to focus on her health, and her Atlanta date will mark her return. In a recent interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the funk-soul queen, known for “I’m Every Woman,” “I Feel for You,” “Through the Fire” and many more hits, said she plans to play about an hourlong set and that, “Hopefully I’ll hit everyone’s sweet spot with one song or another. It takes great pains to put a show together. We’re pretty sure that we have a show that will make people happy.”

The hitmaker behind such pop treasures as “Satisfied” and “Right Here Waiting” is a happy man these days, with a new life in Malibu, Calif., with new wife Daisy Fuentes. He’s also genuinely happy to play a hits-driven concert, telling the AJC last week that he understands what it’s like to be a fan of an artist with a deep catalog. And, make no mistake, Marx’s hit list is plentiful — from “Don’t Mean Nothin’” to “Right Here Waiting” to “Take This Heart” to 2016 single “Last Thing I Wanted.”
With Little River Band. 8 p.m. Aug. 5. $25-$85. Chastain Park Amphitheatre, 4469 Stella Drive N.W., Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

The duo of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun launched their Emotional Roadshow in late May — their first tour playing arenas. The “Stressed Out” and “Tear in My Heart” hitmakers are directly targeting their young demographic with one of the most affordable tickets of the summer. Their popularity has soared to the extent that they’re one of Music Midtown’s headliners in September.

This is one of those “gonna make you feel old” moments: Boston is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its self-titled debut, which has sold more than 17 million copies. Tom Scholz and the gang are playing nearly every song from that classic album, as well as plenty of follow-up hits. The show is also the 10th Birthday Bash for 97.1 the River (full disclosure: I provide a weekly music news segment on the station with River morning show host Kaedy Kiely). Joining the festivities are former Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung and his band.
With Dennis DeYoung. 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6. $19.50-$99.50. Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park, 2200 Encore Parkway, Alpharetta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

The 21st annual celebration for the Atlanta R&B station surely will be “One Nation Under a Groove,” with a lineup featuring Parliament Funkadelic and George Clinton, the Original Lakeside, A Taste of Honey and the 911 Band. Clinton, 75, is a god to funk fans, but he’s also kept himself relevant to a new generation by appearing on Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp a Butterfly” album.

The indefatigable Maestro of the Macabre has spent a chunk of his summer on tour with Hollywood Vampires — the group he fronts with Joe Perry, Johnny Depp and other well-known names — and now the rocker invites fans to Spend the Night With Alice Cooper on a solo tour that will stretch into October. Cooper always aims to entertain, so if you’re fed up with politics, check out aliceforpresident.com for a chuckle.

For his Life Amplified world tour, Paisley has enlisted pals Tyler Farr and Maddie & Tae to join him. While Paisley is respected for his tremendous guitar skills and his breezy country songs, he’s also well-known as a jokester and a creative mind outside of music — not to mention, the perennial co-host of the CMA Awards. And he’s musically versatile, too! Paisley recently joined with pop star Demi Lovato for a duet, “Without a Fight.”
