Carrie Underwood returns as the voice to introduce “Sunday Night Football,” but this season, she’s singing a new tune.

The familiar “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” set to Joan Jett’s “I Hate Myself for Loving You,” has been bumped after a 10-season run and will be replaced by “Oh, Sunday Night,” a new tune set to the music of “Somethin’ Bad,” Underwood’s 2014 hit with Miranda Lambert.

The song is described as a mix of country, rock and pop.

Underwood worked with the writers of “Somethin’ Bad” – Chris DeStefano, Brett James, and Priscilla Renea – to recast the lyrics as “Sunday Night Football” appropriate.

Fans will hear the new opening on NBC on Sept. 11, when the New England Patriots take on the Arizona Cardinals.
